Hi my name is Maria and I have a 15 year old daughter with high functioning aspergers. She is going to year 11 at school so a hard year full of pressure and exams. Its hard enough dealing with everyday life with aspergers without the added stress of exams. The state school systems still do not fully understand how difficult it is for teenagers with autistic spectrum disorders and I wish things could change so that some pressure can be taken away from them when it comes to exams. I too am very apprehensive with what she will be able to do once she finishes school. Will she have equal opportunities and support if she wants to go to college? or will she be able to get employment?

I think what you are doing is amazing as so many groups that have been forwarded to me in the past are geared around much younger children and the teenage/young adults with autistic disorders seem to be pushed to the side. It is from hereon that these young people are going to face more difficulties as they have to start fending for themselves without us as their parents always being there to help sort things out for them.

Good luck with your campaigning and hope you find a venue soon. Please let us know if we can support in any other way.

Thank you so much for the support! I completely agree with what you're saying & your daughter will be able to have equal job opportunities! This is what this campaign's pushing for x
